Description
The medals of Major Norman MacLeod DSO of clan MacLeod. With a lot of scope for further research.
Born 1879 and attended Royal Mil College 1899 and later Indian Staff College Quetta. The served in the Indian Army and Indian Staff Corps and the noted 15th LUDHIANA Sikhs. Attached to Kings African Rifles 1902 - 1907 as a Company Commander during which time he was involved in the Nandi campaign and received the Africa GSM, probably uniquely named to LUDHIANA SIKHS.
Captain 1908 and Temp Major 1915. Brigade Major May 1916.
Ww1 served as a Major and won DSO for Mesopotamia (August 1917)and MID (August 1917). Retired Jan 1924 after 25 years service .
Tragically died young in 1924.
