Description
ROYAL GALA 6 - RARE “Royal New Zealand Visit 1952” glass dish
In fond memory – and a bit of history linked to an earlier human tragedy in the Royal Family - just for you, for your collection or for display...
we offer today a very rare and indeed highly collectable glass dish designed to celebrate the visit by Princess Elizabeth and family to New Zealand in 1952.
Sadly that 1952 Royal Visit never took place, as some will remember. A visit had been planned for King Georg VI but he fell ill (again) and the young princess was to have come instead in May 1952. Sadly on her first stop on this trip the Princess – then in Kenya – learned about the death of her father and she had to return home, only to return to New Zealand in 1953 as HM The Queen.
We offer this rare glass dish in a well used vintage condition. It has some usage marks and tiny chips underneath the rim, hardly visible on a light background, as shown. Still, we have reduced the reserve accordingly. The small dish measures 11.5 cm x 9 cm.
Now retrieved from the back of the garage this beauty can be yours soon.
