Rare ROYAL GALA Souvenir - Silver Jubilee King George V and Queen Mary – 1935

In fond memory – just for you, for your collection or display... we offer today a rare cup/mug commemorating the silver jubilee of King George V and his wife Queen Mary. The Silver Jubilee of George V on 6 May 1935 marked 25 years of George V as the King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India. Sadly he died a year later.

Please check the photos for details of this collectable mug, made by MYOTT in Stoke-on-Trent, in Staffordshire, the very heartland of quality china production in England in the good old days. Of interest also are the extensive markings at its base, showing that it was an official design by the British Pottery Manufacturers Federation.

This beauty measures about 8.5 cm in height. We offer this rare souvenir in a used vintage condition, as shown. It has a wee chip on the inside rim and some interesting underglaze crazing and a hairline. We have therefore reduced the reserve. Still, it displays very well indeed.
