ROYAL FAMILY YEARBOOK 1981 / 1982 Hard cover with dust cover
To anyone who imagines that one year in the life of the Royal Family is much like another, the 1981/82 period covered by this book is something of a surprise. In fourteen months the world has watched a brilliant royal wedding and rejoiced in the birth of an infant as yet unaware of his high destiny. Between those events the Oueen has conscientiously undertaken her duties as Head of State, in Australasia, Sri Lanka and Canada, as well as at horne, hosting the Pope, President Reagan and the Sultan of Oman. Hundreds of additional domestic engagements by her and members of her wide family have added colour and purpose to national events, from the tragedy of Penlee to the drama of the Falklands, and The Royal Family Yearbook brings the reality of this royal involvement into perspective with some 2500 brilliant, full-colour pictures and an informed, descriptive text.
Trevor Hall is Royal Editor for Keystone Press Agency and the author of six books about the Royal Family, which stem from his life-long interest in all aspects, from the constitutional to the human, of royalty both past and present, British and foreign. He has watched the activities of the Royal Family closely during his researches for this book, in the course of which he followed Prince Philip on his World Wildlife Fund tour in February and met Princess Alice Duchess of Gloucester, and Viscount Linley. He is to follow the Oueen and Prince Philip on their Autumn 1982 tour of Australia and the South Pacific Islands, and again for their visits to Jamaica and the United States in 1983
