Description

Part of history one of the earliest produced gramophone record disc's. Emil Berliner in 1887 invented the gramophone and subsequently created and sold the first commercial disc records. This is obviously one of the first records, inscribed May 15 1888, it features Mary of Argyle Cornet Solo by Mr Henry Higgins of Sousa's Band. You will note that at that time only one side of the disc was used for recording. As part of a estate it has obviously not been played by the seller.
