Description
Phillips & Son Fire And Thief Resisting Safe
Beautifully restored, with hours of filling, sanding, and wet sanding to provide a smooth uniform finish.
Exterior has been stripped back to bare metal, painted with a rust proof paint, then finished in satin black. (Can provide photos on request)
Interior has been left original to retain the large Phillips & Son logo.
All brass components have been thoroughly cleaned before being reinstated.
The plaque was missing when purchased but a matching original was found on eBay. This new plaque had the original brass melted off for scrap and was just the original steel stamped plate. This has been painted with a brass coloured paint which looks great and matched well with the rest of the components.
One main safe key, and one key for one of the drawers which both function well. One of the drawers is missing its key, but is unlocked so functions, and could potentially be removed and a replacement key made.
Has been adhered to a painted piece of 30mm timber with 4 cast iron wheels for practicality. This could be easily removed if required. It does make the safe very manoeuvrable for its weight.
A few small scrapes on the rear where it has been put on a sack barrow, but not visible if the back is to the wall. I have included a photo of this.
This safe is EXTREMELY heavy, I’m unsure of weight but it would be in excess of 100kg.
D432mm x H698(safe only) H796(with wheels) x W481mm
