Rare GALENA and GOLD Specimen weighing 63.02 grams and containing multiple small chunks and veins of gold.

Galena is a mineral made up of lead and silver in varying proportions, so using specific gravity to determine the gold content won't be completly accurate. The only way to measure the gold accurately would be to crush it up and pan it out, but this would ruin its value as a specimen. I plan to have a specific gravity test run using the average range of Galena specimens to get a rough idea of the gold content.

This specimen was from the estate of my father who was a geologist and prospector in Arizona in the 1940's.
